Could you introduce yourself a bit (background & profession)?

I am half Chinese and half Danish. I am a family doctor working in a private group practice. I met my English husband in Hong Kong and we have two daughters that both attend GSIS and we have four dogs!

How did you get into medicine?

I initially wanted to become a vet but was not good with reptiles and some other animals so I decided human medicine would be better.

What do you like most about being a doctor?

I like that family doctors treat a whole variety of issues and can treat all people of different ages.

What is the biggest challenge in your career?

I have joined a new practice so this is exciting at the moment.

What is your advice for any alumni looking to start a career in medicine?

Medicine is wonderful and very rewarding but it will take up a lot of your time when you study and intern. Choosing your specialty carefully and being organized also helps.

You are also a GSIS parent and board member. What made you stay connected to GSIS?

I felt passionate that the school should hold on to its International, German and Swiss culture in Hong Kong.

What was your most memorable GSIS moment?

All the Bazaars.

Which friends or teachers that you met at GSIS have you stayed in touch with?

I stay in touch with many of my alumini all over the world and we had a girls trip with 5 alumni to Capri Italy in 2019.

How did your GSIS experience contribute to who you are today?

The diverse class gave me exposure to many cultures and also ongoing friendships.

What was your favourite subject at GSIS and was it related to anything you actually ended up doing?

I loved chemistry and maths.
